Description |
One bamboo cane. The cane is a light brown colour with high gloss varnish. The cane body is straight with a curved handle at the top. The grooves of the bamboo stalk are slightly darker in colour. The end of the handle has a metal tip. The base of the can also has the same metal tip. There is a maker's mark stamped into the metal tip of the handle. |

The cane belonged to David Milne who was a well known Canadian artist. He was born on Jan. 8th, 1882 in Burgoyne and was educated in Paisley and Walkerton. He was a war artist during the First World War and a contemporary of the Group of Seven. This cane was used during his time overseas working as a Canadian war artist in 1918. |
