Description |
One smoke coloured pliers. They have a thick needlenose type end. On one side of head there is "LODI" stamped and on the other side is "PAT. SEP 25-1894. RE. NOV. 6190C". |
Provenance |
The pliers belonged to Robert B. Hillmer who was a jeweller in Southampton from about 1900 to the time of his death in 1958. A number of his small tools date from the beginning of the century. The set of engraving tools were used to engrave a great number of the coffin plates used for funerals for a half-century or so. |
