Description |
One signature quilt. It has a white cotton background with red embroidered names on the front. The front has twenty square block sections with a circle pattern in white thread. The names are positioned with four names in each corner diagonally with one name in the centre. The back of the quilt is plain white cotton and has a thin layer of batting. |
Provenance |
This quilt was made by the Arkwright Red Cross Society in 1918. It has 283 names and includes 13 servicemen, as well as Arran Township councillors, Reeve, Clerk and Treasurer. It was sold by auction and purchased by Councillor Charles A. Thomas of Ebenezer in Arran Township for $24.00. |
