Description |
A large rectangular shaped wooden plaque in the shape of a crest. The top edge of the plaque has a rounded top in a half circle shape. The sides are straight and curve towards the bottom with a slight peak in the centre. The front of the plaque has raised symbols and lettering with several rectangular shaped gold plates with engraving on the front. The top of the plaque has a raised logo of the Lions International with tow lion faces on either side of the circular logo. Below in raised capital letters it reads "Presidents - The Lions Club - of" with a long narrow gold plate that has "Teeswater" engraved. Beside the text are two leaf shapes. The very top right corner of the plaque has a gold plate that reads "1979-2012". The main body of the plaque is filled with rectangular shaped gold plates in three columns of ten plates. The left side column from top to bottom of listed Presidents are: Robert Cronin - 1979-1980 Lloyd Sillick - 1980-1981 Nelson Pickell - 1981-1982 Douglas Oatman - 1982-1983 Ron Dunn - 1983-1984 John Fieten - 1984-1985 Don Clark - 1985-1986 Bill Finlayson - 1986-1987 Dave Thompson - 1987-1988 Lyle Cox - 1988-1989 The middle column from top to bottom of listed Presidents are: Hugh Thacker - 1989-1990 Don Hart - 1990-1991 Alan J. The Teeswater branch of the Lion's Club operated from 1949 until 2012. The members then went to other clubs located in Formosa, Walkerton, and Wingham. |
