During the First World War, he served with the 160th Bruce Battalion "D" Company, the 2nd Canadian Pioneers, and the 4th Canadian Engineers in France. He enlisted January 11, 1916 in Tiverton. Regimental Number 651352. Highest Rank Second Corporal. Following his return to Tiverton, he farmed, worked as a blacksmith, and later in real estate and insurance. He was active in his community, serving as Reeve of Tiverton and a member of both the Bruce Masonic Lodge and the IOOF Silver City Lodge. |
