Hannah attended art schools in Hamilton, Toronto, Boston and Philadelphia. She also studied at the Academie Colarossi in Paris, France.

Her father, William, created the "Rusk Pump". When a demand arose for the pump, the famly moved to Paisley where he produced it at the Paisley Pump Works.

Her husband, Rev. Samuel P. Kelly, was an American Episcopal minister.

Places of Residence

As a child, Hannah's family initially resided at Lot 7, Concession 10, Elderslie Township, Bruce County, Ontario. They also resided in Paisley at one time. "After she left Paisley to pursue her dream of being an artist, she often returned to visit family and friends." (MacKinnon, page 20) She also spent time in Hamilton, Toronto, Boston, Philadelphia and Paris. She met her husband in Paris (MacKinnon, page 21). She married in Philadelphia in 1897. According to the 1900 United States Federal Census, she and her husband were still residing in Philadelphia at that time. After the death of her husband, she returned to Hamilton, Ontario. She is buried in the Paisley Cemetery, Bruce County, Ontario, Rusk Family plot, Row 12, north end.
