James Paddon's family operated the general store, post office and gas station in North Bruce, Bruce County, Ontario. James Paddon attended school in Port Elgin, Ontario. He graduated from the Ontario College of Art in 1968 with general art and design. James worked in Toronto, Ontario within the contract furniture industry with a leading design firm. He later moved to London, Ontario and started a career as a salesman and designer in the same industry. Among the furniture items he created was the first panel based (cubicle) furniture system manufactured in Canada. After retirement, James was able to focus on creating artwork from his home studio in London, Ontario. |
