Stuart Robertson was a farmer who became active in Lucknow municipal affairs. He served on council for several years and was twice chosen as Reeve. Stuart was active throughout Bruce County and served as past President of Lucknow Agriculture Society, served as Provincial Zone Director, Past President and Honorary member of the Bruce Historical Society in the 1960's, member of the Lucknow Library Board and member of the Horticultural Society. Stuart was also the Director of Bruce County District of Ontario Association of Fairs and Exhibitions in 1934. He served in various departments and as an Elder in the Presbyterian Church for thirty-five years. He was also a member of the Old Light Masonic Lodge. At two years of age, Stuart moved with the family from Clinton to a farm three miles west of Lucknow on the boundary, now Highway 86. |
