First World War soldier. Enlisted Feb. 2, 1916 in Tiverton, ON. Regimental Number 651701. Highest rank Corporal. Served with the 160th Bruce Battalion, Orderly room.. Previous profession listed as "Bookkeeper" on his Attestation Paper. With his brother James, he went overseas and also joined the 4th Machine Gun Battalion. He saw action in Belgium, France and Germany. He was discharged at Toronto on June 16, 1919. Jack, a clerk, originally enlisted with the 2nd Perth Regiment (A550001) on August 2, 1940 in Walkerton, Ontario. He was transferred to the 2/97th Field Battery (Reserve Force) on March 31, 1941. He was stricken off strength on May 2, 1941 as he was "living out of the training area." |
